The SHINE event was a great success. Thank you to Jeanre du Preez and Nadine Barkhuizen for your tireless efforts in organizing this event. You are surely very hard working ladies and success will follow you! Thank you so much that I could be apart of this event, thank you for the opportunity. It was an honor to be able to sponsor the hair styling for this event. Well done to all the girls at eModels, you did well!
To the amazing photographer Elani Ross owner of Reflective photography – it has been a big blessing working with you! You are so talented and I am unbelievably grateful to be able to work with you. Elani took all the beautiful photo’s of the models walking the runway.
To Bronwen Hurndall, Karle Potgieter and Ammie van den Berg from the MUD Stand Mimosa Mall – could not have asked for better MUA’s to work with. All models make-up were sponsered by MUD.
The evening started out with all the models walking in their own hand made recycled outfits! I really enjoyed seeing what everyone came up with. It was truly creative.
The models then walked in Este Creations
The male models looked dapper in their Promens Wear
My favorite of the night – Stanley Baptiste! What an amazing designer. He resides in Bloemfontein and creates the most beautiful dresses! Visit his website here

The SHINE event supports JAM – South Africa.
“JAM, a South African founded non-profit relief and development organisation with 30 years’ experience in relief and sustainable development. Our programmes focus on food security, micronutrient intervention, assistance to orphans and vulnerable children, the provision of water and sanitation, skills development, community-based agricultural development, and school infrastructure development. JAM SA has been serving disadvantaged communities in South Africa since 2005. At the end of 2015, JAM SA was supporting more than 1 700 Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centres. JAM SA operates in seven provinces in South Africa: Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, Western Cape, Northern Cape, Limpopo and North West. Through partnerships with various organisations and donors, JAM SA feeds over 84 000 children every school day. As part of measuring our impact and ensuring we continue to remain effective, as of January 2014, JAM SA introduced nutritional assessments to measure the impact of our programmes.”
Helping JAM South Africa to change the world of one child today has never been easier. Simply SMS “JAM” to 42181 at a cost of R30 and you will provide a life-changing nutritious meal to a child for one month.
Please visit their website to see how you can get involved and make a difference. Seeing the presentation at the event really made me so much more aware! We all know of the heart breaking situations in our country – but what do WE do to actually help? You don’t have to be rich to make a difference – it doesn’t take that much and you could be feeding a hungry child! We have to join hands and help children in need. We can only be thankful for who we are and where we are. Be the change you want to see. click here for more information.
